Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
Isn’t counseling just for “crazy” people?
Nope! We all go through difficulties and need safe, supportive people to join us in the mess. Counseling provides a space for you to be authentically you without fear of judgment or “told ya so’s.” We’re here to help guide you through the challenges that life throws you way and, hopefully, by the end of it you’ll see the process was worth it.
How long does a session last?
You can choose between a 50 minute and 90 minute session. Typically, we recommend weekly or biweekly sessions to start. Premarital counseling ranges from 50-110 minutes per session.
What’s the cost and what about insurance?
The cost for a 50 minute session is $130 for individual therapy, $145 for family therapy or premarital therapy. We don’t take insurance, but are able to utilize HSA/FSA cards for payment. We have partnered with Mentaya to help you get reimbursement through your insurance “out of network” benefits. We can provide more information if you are interested in using Mentaya’s services.
We can also provide documentation for you to submit to your insurance carrier if you would like to do it yourself.
Where are you located?
We offer in-person and telehealth therapy in the Kansas city area at the Hidden Creek office located in Independence, MO. We also offer telehealth therapy for Ohio residents.
